Title page; metafiles

When I copy a preview page as a metafile to MS Works, all I get is the page in a text box and I can't do anything with it.  I have tried saving in diferent formats, but it ends up the same.  Any help?

You should be able to re-size it, and crop it. But if you expected to separate its components for editing, no.

Actually, the WMF can be separated for editing in some programs such as Adobe Illustrator. MS Word allows you to separate the components, but the effect is unfortunate.

I just tested on two versions of Works:

  • MS Works 4.5a accepts both the clipboard graphic and the WMF graphic file. I had to import it to the ClipArt library before I could insert the file based WMF into a document.

  • MS Works 7 accepts both the clipboard graphic and the WMF graphic file. Version 7 includes a Picture, Insert from File command, so it was easier to insert the file version. There were, however, a few anomalies with the import, primarily with the grand staff brace.
