String Harmonics

Was wondering if anyone has found a way to notate string harmonics (diamond-shape note heads).

I can see how you could do it with Insert Text if you had the right font (can anyone recommend one?)-  but what if you had to slur two harmonic notes together?

Any help would be appreciated!!

The diamond-shaped notehead is in the Boxmarks font, as the underscore _ . You can get boxmarks from the Scriptorium; there's a link on this site somewhere. It's hard to make convincing-looking notes with diamond heads, but it may be possible by combining fonts.

What I do for artificial harmonics is mark the passage "harmonics", write the noteheads at the sounding pitch, and put the diamonds where you're actually fingering. It would be better to do it the other way around, but you can't add leger lines to the diamonds.

For natural harmonics, I indicate actual pitch, string and (for guitar) fret position, and put a ° sign above the note. This is either <alt+0176> in a standard font, or the | sign in Boxmarks.
