Chord/Text Alignment Issue

I am trying to print a single melody line. I have a second (hidden) line with triads being played 1/8 note earlier than the melody line and want the chord text in the melody line to match this and not the melody itself. Help?

Seems to me there is one  possible way to do this
just enter the text [is this for guitar?] an 8th earlier above the melody line sometimes you would have to change the value's of notes adding ties but at least the sounds would occur with the text info.

I can't quite see the point of this though don't you want the chords played with the melody?  unless it's reggae or everything is felt on the upbeat this is a really complicated thing to do for 'live' people.

Yes. This is for guitar. I have a line where the chord is pushed 1/8 not prior to the melody.
