Spaces with chords 2003-06-19 01:06 pm Can anyone please help - new to this but I require to enter chords in the left hand under any note in the right hand. So I could have four notes in a bar and require to insert a chord under the third note. No rests. Quote Selected
Re: Spaces with chords Reply #1 – 2003-06-19 02:21 pm Add the rests anyway, but make them invisible in your printed output. Visibility is a property of just about any NWC item.HTH,Wilm Quote Selected
Re: Spaces with chords Reply #3 – 2003-06-19 06:37 pm Thanks Wilm, however, this is OK for printing but rests or notes are still played when selecting Play. I require no notes or rests to show and be played at these points in the LH. Quote Selected
Re: Spaces with chords Reply #4 – 2003-06-19 09:17 pm lemme try to understand the problem correctlyRH stave, 4/4, one bar, four quarter notesLH stave, 4/4, one bar, one single quarter note (or a chord) under the third note in the RH stavewhen this last note (or chord) is also a quarter duration, what do you care about whether rests are "played"?I'm sure I responded too quickly, because the question still escapes me... maybe you could post a small NWC example ...eummm... that would lead you exactly to your original question... Re: Spaces with chords Reply #5 – 2003-06-19 10:03 pm Hi WilmThanks for your reply - its good for me that someone replys so quickly - I can see your problem here in what I wish to do. At the moment I have to produce the same notes in RH bars with different notes for the LH. So I have 4 bars (say) same notes each (RH). With 4 bares LH I want to surpress some not to play in the LH. The principle of not printing is good when I find the correct combination. But it would be nice to surpress notes from not playing. I have overcome in some case (your method) by changing the notes in somes case to rests and not showing them on printing - however, they still get played when notes. I thought there could be a method of inserting spaces.John Quote Selected
Re: Spaces with chords Reply #6 – 2003-06-20 04:30 pm I'm still a bit confused - maybe you could mail a small sample NWC to w.boerhout@planet.nl - I'll take a look and maybe I can suggest another approach Quote Selected
Re: Spaces with chords Reply #7 – 2003-06-21 02:58 pm Hi John,You can always mute the notes you don't want to sound - just select your chosen notes, then right-click and go to Properties then from the tab <Notes>, check the box next to "Mute". You can select a single note or a bunch of consecutive ones. Quote Selected
