Scanning sheet music

Recently I had a problem where I lost all my NWC files due to PC problem. I have hard copies of all my lost music but I would like to rescan them into NW. Some I have to edit for minor errors, some I have to add a few more bars. Is there any way to do this, save rewriting them all?

First of all, really sorry for you!!

Don't you have any copy of some of them, either on the NG if you posted it, or on the scripto?

Otherwise, you *may* scan them but the results vary a lot depending on the software used.

You may read https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=2013, https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=496, https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=454 and some others threads about OCR.

Sometimes it's quicker to re-enter the score entirely, depending on its complexity (and length!).

Hab mut! (have guts?)

P.S. Try to keep copies of your files on some other devices. Diskettes (you don't have an i-mac, do you?) are an easy way, since NWC files are *small*; but CDs (RW or not) are simpler for complete backups.
You may also send them to a webmail you own (but no backup is done by the providers usually).

Hope this helps!
