note on - note off in real time

Hi ! Sir

I need a Api or dll funtion for know the note ON and note OFF in real time when the file midi play.
I need this to show in a window the note ( C, C#, B, ...) when the note is executed.

You can provide this to me ?

I use a program called "Midi Monitor" which does what you describe, including reporting other events (channel change, controllers, etc.). You can filter out any events that you're not interested in, or filter out any channels you don't care to have reported.

The program was originally packaged with early versions of Windows 3.x, the version I have is "Midi Monitor Application, V2.01, Original by Microsoft Corp. (c)1991, Enhancements by Jamie O'Connell 1993". It's commonly available on several ftp sites, and works fine under Win9x.
