Spacing multiple lyric lines

Have there been any decent ideas lately about getting some space between lines when printing multiple verses of lyrics.I know there were workarounds by copying the staff and then putting verse two with different configuration setup and then layering back together again. But that is pretty crude. What about a font that sits up a bit from the baseline so there is some apparent room between lines when printing? Is that possible?

It would mean that the spacing parameter moves from the general lyric tab to the individual lines-tab. It does not sound difficult; then again, maintaining compatibility could be a bit of a poser. I wonder how 'wishable' others find this item - the spacing of multiple lines has always been fine by me.

If you enter the lyrics on only the odd numbered tabs - i.e.  three verses enter only on lyric tabs 1, 3 and 5, with tabs 2 and 4 empty - the lyrics will be double-spaced.  Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but perhaps easier than using the layered staff with offsets.

Another possibility though probably less useful is to increase the font size for lyrics, increase the font; increase the spacing.

The down side is that the font _might_ become too large for your needs.  E.G. the note spacing increases to accomodate the larger words so you get less bars per system - it's a trade-off.

I think a superscript font will do what you are looking for. Google for "free fonts" for a few thousand choices.
