Beaming 1998-05-17 04:00 am I know this subject has probably already been addressed andit is probably discussed in NWC online help but I can't seemto find it. Here's my question/problem: A single line of music; sixteenth notes on top, stems up; eighths below, stems down. I am unable to get note configurations such as this to beam together properly. Need suggestions. Thanks.... Quote Selected
Re: Beaming Reply #1 – 1998-05-17 04:00 am You can't. Beamed notes must all be in the same direction. Add this request to the wish list. Quote Selected
Re: Beaming Reply #2 – 1998-05-18 04:00 am You can achieve the desired effect by using the secret layering.Copy the line of music to a second stave in an experimental layer file.In the first stave include only the sixteenth notes stems up and beam them.In the lower stave include only the eighths stems down and beam them. Re: Beaming Reply #3 – 1998-05-18 04:00 am Re last item, NB you should make sure that you only have one set of beamed notes in each layered staff or else when you beam them together, you will have tails appearing from the note stems.Richard Quote Selected
Re: Beaming Reply #4 – 1998-05-21 04:00 am I thing I misunderstood your question - I thought you wanted one beam with notes going in two directions. Richard is right - use the staff layering feature.
