Effects - DSP, Reverb, Chorus 2001-02-27 05:00 am I have a YAMAHA PSR 540 keyboard, and with it I can make lots of effects (about 100 or so) like 'rotary speaker', 'distotion', 'auto wah', echo, tremolo, trill and so on.They sound really good on my keyboard. Therefore i'd like to use them, but I can't find any way in NWC how I can use them (Not in any MIDI sequencer, btw). Also, this keyboard has XG-sounds(about 500) and normal sounds(227). The normal sounds sound better than the XG-sounds. However, NWC takes (like any other MIDI sequencer I am aware of) the XG-sounds, and I cant find out how I could let him pick the normal sounds. Any one knows how I can fix these two problems? Quote Selected
Re: Effects - DSP, Reverb, Chorus Reply #1 – 2001-02-27 05:00 am Some of the FX are available as multi-point controllers. To learn about these, I'd suggest downloading the "Command Summary" from the NWC Scriptorium and printing it out. There's a /lot/ of information there. The rest of them, especially the XG-specific ones, are best added "after the fact" using a good XG utility like XGedit.Regarding XG sounds, these are accessed by selecting a different bank number in Controller 32 (leave Controller 0 at 0). There is, again, an Excel file of the various XG patches in the various banks at the Scriptorium, in the "Useful Files" section.Note that your mileage may vary. Consult your keyboard's patch list to verify that the sounds are the same as in the Excel file, good chance you might have even more available. Also verify that your implementation of XG does indeed use Controller 32 to select different patch banks.HTHFred Quote Selected
