screen view during notation and chord finder

It is slightly annoying that the notation of notes work in a way that makes the notes go all the way to the right end of the page and then only jumps forward in smal leaps as more notes are added. Is it possible to make a notation setup that enables  you to see the entire page on which you are writing instead of the automatic scrolling? ( the Finale program has alledgedly this feature)

I also wonder if som effort has been done to make a support program for NWC that will help determining chords in a set key and with a supplied melody line. I know that for instance the notation program MusicEase has this feature.

Selecting chords to fit a given melody line in a given key is not an exact science. Different musicians will choose differing chords, according to their outlook, training and how adventurous they want to be (today). If you introduce other nationalities into the discussion the number of alternatives will increase further.

Even in one piece of music where a section is to be repeated the composer might well specify differing chords for the 1st and 2nd times through.

Know we know Noteworthy is very good and clever (except perhaps for its accidental handling - hint, Mr.NWC!) but you're asking too much of it to achieve what you want here, unless you're prepared to settle for a 'vanilla solution' every time.

Although suggestions for new features are often made, and sometimes granted (see the Wish List), some things fall under the category of "why isn't this program more like (say) Finale," for which the answer is, "becuase it isn't Finale, and doesn't cost that much."

Someone suggested that within the present format of note entry, it would be nice to have space to the right of the insertion point, so you can see where you are going. That doesn't seem too difficult to add. But editing in page mode (layout mode) would presumably require a major program change.

That's just my perspective, as a user.

To see where you are going as you add notes to a staff, try starting with a blank staff with, say, 16 blank measures.  Do this by starting with File-New and choose Blank template.  Add the clef, key signature and time signature and hit the Tab key 16 times.  Select the entire blank staff and copy (Edit-Copy or Ctrl-C) it to the clipboard.  For each staff you plan to use, Add the new staff (Ctrl-A) and paste the blank staff into the new staff.  If (when!) your piece goes longer than 16 measures, go to the end of each staff and paste from the clipboard again, deleting the clef, key signature and time signature.  Or put in 32 or 64 blank measures in your blank staff copied to the clipboard and paste less often.
