midi keyboard entry onto stave

When entering notes on the stave from a midi keyboard in the key of C and playing a Bb note, why do I get an A with a # on the stave instead of a B with a b against it. - I don't get the problem with the pc keyboard entry.
Can I change this somehow or do I have to use manual entry for all accidentals.
Your help would be appreciated.

NWC favors sharps when the piece is in the key of C, or any key that includes a sharp. If you are in a flat key, it will favor flats. You can re-spell after the fact by forcing accidentals, temporarily changing the key to include a flat, then using transpose 0 semitones to re-spell the staff.
