Foot mouse ???

My feet stay idle whereas my hands are busy on the keyboard. Does a genius hardware hacker has some idea to access the tools menu (for instance to change the note duration) with my feet ?

I can't imagine myself being co-ordinated enough to do that! What I have found works for me is just to learn all the keyboard shortcuts (computer keyboard that is). The number keys are assigned in a logical order and adjust the time values very nicely. Pull down the Notes menu from the main menu bar and all the shortcut values will be shown to the right of the time values. Not the answer you asked for, but I hope it helps. -Ron

Ron, thank you for the trick. Anyway, organ players play with hands and feet ! Regards Alain

Do you have a foot controller for MIDI modulation? If so, the upcoming version 1.31 may help. It will respond to some MIDI controller changes by adjusting the duration settings. By using a foot controller, you will be able to do more changes fast. Rests and bar lines will still need to be entered manually for now, though. More details on this will be available in the package when it is released.

I hope this helps.

Being an organist and used to using my feet as well as my hands, I'd love something like that!

I use a standard Kensington trackball with my feet, not for
playing music but just for normal computer use. I love it. YMMV.

I also just found out that there's a new product made for this,
the "Nohands" Mouse, which uses two foot-operated pedals--one for the
cursor, the other for "clicks". Hunter Digital, (310) 471-5852.
The "introductory" price is $199.95.

It's a long time I dream of a foot mouse. Having learned to play drums, (and as a marsupilami :-)) I feel better when I also use my feet... So I'm gonna "finalize" an old project : using my left foot to move the pointer, and the right to click... I already "customized" a mouse to play GrandPrixwith a _real_ wheel (I just put the mouse on a cylinder which rolls on the wheel axis). Well, it is not so hard ! But I'll need a chair that doesn't move :-) !!
Happy to know that I'm not the only one to thik of this kinda device. 200$ is too much though!!

Mad, happy left-handed guitarist
