WinXP and NWC

Hi guys/gals.

Anyone tried NWC on WinXP yet? Or will the program work fine on it?

Sorry, but I don't want to be an alpha-tester of microsoft product any more.
I now never use the last version of *any* µ$ product.
I prefer to wait for the correction... (such as Word 6.0c for Word6, and so on)

P.S. How many are the users of microsoft products ?
None. There is only beta-testers.

P.P.S. It seems that NWC runs fine with Mandrake 8.1 :)

One point is clear that NWP Browser plug-in will NOT work on WXP/IE6.

Each of our downloads includes a list of system requirements. If NWC didn't run on Win XP, the NWC download page would say so.

We have now explicitly named Windows XP as supported, for those that want to see it in addition to the general "Windows 95 or later" statement.

The newest version of the browser plug-in setup should now work with IE 6.

Yes, I can confirm - NWC works with Windows XP. Several other programs I have don't, and neither does my scanner, but NWC does!

Robin, totally off topic, but . . . I think the newer versions of Windows use something other than Twain for scanning. Not sure if you can simply add the various Twain "dll's" to the operating system. The manufacturer of your scanner may also have a software update.

Thanks Steve. I did check, and they did have a Windows 2000 driver, but that didn't seem to work. I might have to fiddle a bit.

Anyway, we're way off topic here, just thought I ought to reply.

You should try reinstalling your scanner. Sometimes a new OS will confuse older software.

No, been there, done that. I cheated in the end, and set up the machine to dual boot with XP or 98.

Thanks for the suggestions, though, and oops, we're drifting off-topic again!

How did you get it to work with XP - I can only get the player plug in but not the composer to work ?
Also its a pity the composer doesn't have a predefined set of chords rather than keep constructing them.

I just installed it, and it worked first time, no problem.
As regards inserting chords, one way you could try would be to have a "song" containing pre-prepared chords and cut and paste them as required. Not ideal, admittedly, but quicker than puting them in a note at a time, if you don't have a keyboard.
