Scanning Sheet Music 2000-12-23 05:00 am Does anyone know of a software that will allow me to scan sheet music into the computer and translate it into either NWC format or MIDI format? That would save me loads of typing! Quote Selected

Re: Scanning Sheet Music Reply #3 – 2001-01-12 05:00 am I have used several scanning (OCR) programs, all with poor results. In fact, they were so bad, it was faster to enter the notes on a new document rather than try to fix what was gotten from scanning. One program I tried was OMER which is made to use with another notation shareware Melody Assistant. Because it was being discussed on a website where I am a columnist, the manufacturer really worked with me trying to help solve the problem... no luck. I tried everything, all sorts of resolution settings, just got garbage.I have the latest Finale 2001, which has a built in scanning/OCR feature. I got ONE usable scan after trying it for several months. Nothing I did ever made any difference. Now maybe it is just stupidity on my part... but I like to think of myself as above average. But I can't make them work. I would like to see a demonstration by a software supplier and see it proven. I would love to be proven wrong , but I think this is a waste of time with the current programs. Quote Selected
