Slurring the Notes During play Back 1998-08-07 04:00 am Does Noteworthy have the capability to slur the notes while playing a piece of music with slurring notations. If so, how do I make it happen? Quote Selected
Re: Slurring the Notes During play Back Reply #1 – 1998-08-07 04:00 am As I understand the slur notation as used in NWC, it is primarily an indication to the performer to link the slurred notes together smoothly. Where lyrics are used it ensures that the associated syllable is correctly spread over the slurred notes. If you want it to slide atonally from one note to the next I don't believe this is possible. In any event it can only be achieved by instruments such as strings or trombone (and voice of course). Quote Selected
Re: Slurring the Notes During play Back Reply #2 – 1998-08-07 04:00 am I pressed the send button too soon, didn't I! There is of course the Multi point controller which can be used to alter the pitch of a note smoothly. Try <Insert><Multi Point Controller> and change the controller type to Pitch Bend. Then play with the settings to achieve the effect required. I've only experimented briefly with this, but it does the job. Quote Selected
Re: Slurring the Notes During play Back Reply #3 – 1998-08-09 04:00 am AFAIK, slurring of notes in - say - the way piano player does it IS implemented automatically in NWC.Notes played normally in NWC are actually only held down for 80% of the length. Slurring holds the note down for 100%.Hope this is the info you were after.A Quote Selected
Re: Slurring the Notes During play Back Reply #4 – 1998-08-10 04:00 am About last reply : if you want notes to be always played 100% (as a singer would), you can just add the "Legato" style at the beginning of the staff. Of course, it would be great to hide this when printing... :-) Quote Selected
