Noteworthy Browser Plugin question 2008-02-08 06:13 pm I have the Noteworthy browser plugin installed in Firefox, but I get inconsistent results. If I click on a Noteworthy score in CyberHymnal (http://www.cyberhymnal.org/nwc/s/i/Silent%20Night.nwc, for example), Firefox asks if I want to open or download the file. However, there's a link I clicked on at ChoralWiki (http://nwc-scriptorium.org/ftp/classical/m/mendel_overt.nwc) which opens a Noteworthy score within Firefox the way a plugin should. What causes this inconsistent result? Is it caused by how the original Noteworthy file was created? Quote Selected
Re: Noteworthy Browser Plugin question Reply #1 – 2008-02-08 06:37 pm This is caused by the server. Firefox expects that content be delivered with the correct MIME type. When the content is not delivered with the correct MIME type, Firefox alters its own behavior. You can use this tool to verify your results:Check Your Web Site's NWC File Headershttp://ntworthy.com/webtool/geturl-nwc-header.php Quote Selected

Re: Noteworthy Browser Plugin question Reply #3 – 2008-02-20 02:06 pm Thanks! After reading your response, I e-mailed CyberHymnal about the issue. They e-mailed back that their Web hosting service had recently moved them to a new server and had forgotten to update the MIMI types. CyberHymnal notified them of the issue, but told me that it typically takes a few days before the problem would be fixed. So I've been checking back each day, and voila! today the plug in works! Yippee. Thanks for your help. Quote Selected
