Introducing extra staves at end of a score

I have a choral piece, SATB, and the voices are layered  -  1 line for ladies, 1 for gents. So I am just printing 2 lines of music for the first 4 pages.

At the end of the piece, however, the parts become truly independent in rhythm and overlap in pitch, so I want to print 4 staves at the end.  (How) can I do this?  I am happy to introduce an extra staff to (e.g.) put the alto line on at the end, when I don't want it to be layered with the soprano, but I am then getting a blank staff printed on the first 4 pages, when I only want it on pages 5 and 6.

Your best bet is probably to make two separate song files.  Arrange the distances between staffs in each so that your two staff version ends near the bottom of the page.  Use Page setup/Options to suppress the title page information when printing the second file.  You can make the page numbering continue, from the same Options tab.

This would be far simpler and reliable than trying to do a workaround within NWC.

You have hit upon a long standing wish.
Many have sought to suppress unneccessary staves, and it is definitely on the want list, but we will have to wait - or we should cry out louder...
