notes print as letters

I am trying nwc for the first time. I took a midi song on a disk and the program notated it just fine. When I print it, it prints the staffs fine, but the notes are letters. What is the problem?? My system is win. xp and the printer is HP 960c. What do I need to do to have it print correctlly?

It seems that the printer is not receiving data properly.

You may want to look for, in the printer's settings, options concerning substitution of TrueType fonts, optimization on fonts or sending TrueType fonts.

Another sure but a bit more complicated option is to "print" the score as a PDF first and then printing the PDF on the actual printer.
There is a lot of good, free PDF creation software out there.

Before anything else, try reboot. Usually that's not necessary, but sometimes it helps.

If you can see the notation on the display, but get letters when you print, then this is a clear sign of a buggy print driver. Hopefully, the manufacturer has an updated print driver available. Most printer manufacturers provide driver updates on their web site.

Hmm. I think it is another problem. You are trying Noteworthy, that is not the same as having bought Noteworthy, and installed it.

First, correct this problem (buy Noteworthy - you'll never regret it).
Second, it is a font problem. If I preview a Noteworthy score and copy the result to a .wmf file, I can send that file to anyone by mail, but they won't be able to print it. Let's say 'your' problem pops up. Why? Because they don't have the Noteworthy fonts.

So there you have it: analysis (font problem) and remedy.
