The player is just that, a player.
You have to load the song into the composer to be able to print.

You can print via the free NWC browser plug-in, rather than the player.

The browser plug-in is for the Windows platform only. It works best in a browser OTHER THAN Internet explorer. If you only have Internet Explorer, you will need to circumvent the way that IE disables Netscape-style plugins. Info about that is available when you get the plugin.

Keep in mind that many of the Scriptorium files are not formatted for best-looking printout. It was assumed that the user would have the NWC program, and do the finishing layout before printing. You can't do edits with the browser plugin (or with the player).

I am being dense (or lazy): but how does one circumvent the IE 6 issues so that plug in will work? The embed and javascript examples at the bottom of the plug in page do not work on my IE. Is there another way? Would love to add that capability for folks visiting my site with IE6

the only way is the registry hack & it has to be done by the user - not the web site.

No, you're not dense or lazy. Sorry - I thought the hack was described, but now that I think of it, the hack (which applies to a variety of plugins, not just NWC) was described elsewhere. The hack is easy but RISKY, so it's an expert kind of thing.

I've worked with the registry a bit (after backing always!).

Where might I find the registry tweak to allow the plug in to work?

The plug-in page references the news headline #21 that described the registry changes. This might help, but it is definitely NOT recommended.

Thanks. Kind of tucked away there.

Have read it. Think I'll have my folks simply use Netscape, Mozilla and Opera. Dangerous to reopen holes in Internet Explorer.
