no real tab fonts?

Anyone find a way to put stems down without noteheads, or with numbers for noteheads?  I see a lot of talk of tablature, but my idea of tablature has stems- I play banjo, and there are lots of 16th notes.

I managed to find the little note stems in some of these musical fonts.  I think it was Scarlatti, among others, that had note stems for "|" (above the enter key)

But how do you beam them all together?
