Help--Can't Get Midi Input from a Casio CTK-611Keyboard

I'm at my wits end.  All was well until I upgraded to a new computer running Winows 98.  However, although I can still play to my Casio keyboard or to my computer, I can only input notes through the computer--I can't get the Casio Keyboard to work for input.

I have checked and double checked all of the settings.  I've tried a new midi cable, and I even tried a friends newer Casio keyboard--still the same results.

If anyone can tell me how to get back my ability to input music from my Casio keyboard, I would be forever in their debt.

Hi Diana:  I have the same problem with a Casio CTK 573.  I used it for the first time about 2 weeks ago and spent 3 or 4 days trying to get it towork.  All at once out of the blue it started working and I know not what I did.  I used it for my first composition. and now I have 2 more to input and same problem.  I get the error message that my input device is not opening.  Check the record boxes.  Nothing happens.  I've been two days now so hopefully this time I will know what I do when It does take off. (no promises)  If you find out why please e-mail me.  elzinga@triton.net.  Lets keep each other posted.  HOpefully one of us will stumble across it.  I've been changing all the settings at the midi button.  Checked my connections.  Just havent got the right combinationl.  JOAnn

I have a Casio 573 and don't have any problems, here are my options settings, maybe this will help...

Input : SBlive! MIDI IN(DC00)
I have the echo Midi input unchecked

Unde the MIDI tab:
A. SBlive Midi Synth
B. SBlive Midi Synth
Creative S/W Synth
SBLive! MIDI OUT (DC00)

Devices used by playback:
MIDI Mapper

RECORD TAB
input Device :
SB LIVE! MIDI In (DC00)
