combining staffs

Is there way to superimpose a staff onto another?  Basically, I have some music that was written for piano, and I would like to combine the bass and treble clefs into one treble clef.  I can fairly easily transform the bass clef into a treble clef so that it plays right, but I don't want to have to be looking at two staffs all the time.
Thanks

Welcome Toshi :-)
The short answer is "use staff layering".
Refer to help included with NWC.
Basically, any staff can be layered with the staff which is below. You authorize layering for a file in the File/PageSetup menu, "Contents" menu, check "allow layering" checkbox on the lower left corner. (quick keys: Alt,F,G,Alt+Home,Alt+A). Then you set each staff properties (F2) using "layer with next staff" checkbox in the "Visual" tab. (quick keys: F2,Alt+Home,Ctrl+PgDn,Alt+A).

Hope this helps!

I also advise you to change the stem directions so that they point in opposite directions on the two staffs. Otherwise, when they are layered, notes with beams and flags will appear to have multiple beams and flags. That is, they will appear as if they are of shorter duration.

The alternative is to create chords. All of this is described in the help file.

Are you arranging keyboard music for guitar? Layering is the first step. If you'd like to see examples, Fred Nachbaur's posted some great examples.  Feel free to email me at mcfarvan at glinx dot com (text only) if you have specific questions; I've been doing a lot of that too.
