Deleting Chord Text above notes

I have recently attempted to delete old guitar chord names from a musical setting that I have done, because of a key change.However I have had noting but grief in trying to earase them. They were placed with the "Preserve Width" box unchecked, thus leaving the little diamond shape . Does anyone know of a way to delete them?

Highlight the 'little diamond shape' and delete it.

As Ken says.
But if you have difficulty in selecting the diamond try using the arrow keys to navigate.
When you are located next to the diamond use Shift and Left or Right Arrow to highlight the little sucker and press Delete to blow it away.

I couldn't imagine one could try to select this with a mouse.
Keyboard is sooooo comfortable... one key, one place.

And if you miss on the first try, Edit | Undo is a quick and easy way to reverse the delete, and try again.

If you _must_ use the mouse for this, it's a lot easier if you zoom in to give yourself more room (click the button with the magnifying glass thingy and the plus sign as many times as you're comfortable with).

Not only don't you need your mouse, but you don't even
need to do a select. Just use the arrow keys until the
cursor is immediately to the right of the object you want
to delete, and then press the Backspace key.

If you find you deleted the wrong thing, press Ctl-Z (undo)
and try again.

I think the DEL key will remove the object to the right of
the cursor, if I'm not mistaken.

About BackSpace: if you use BackSpace to delete items (on the left of the cursor), then you're ready to use Alt+BackSpace instead of Ctrl-Z to undo an erroneous deletion. This is muck quicker :-)

Alright!! So simple & yet I couldn't find the solution. Have tried both working from directly to the right of the diamond (with backspace) and to left of diamond (with delete) and they both work slick. Thanks to all.
