Ellington conference in Hawaii

I plugged Noteworthy Composer to the webmaster for the Duke Ellington Festival and Duke Ellington Conference planned for Hawaii next April (check it out at www.HAPA2.com/Duke). Steve liked what he saw, and has added a link to the NWC site.

Indeed. Hopefully, visitors to that site won't be fooled into thinking that it's just a MIDI player! Interestingly, easy-to-use NWC is advertised near another product that makes the opposite claim -- "for geeks." Different strokes for different folks.

So, if you like Ellington (I'm not talking the common, commercial stuff like Satin Doll and A-Train, but I am talking about Creole Love Call, Washington Wobble, East St. Louis Toodle-Oo, Mood Indigo, Daybreak Express, Reminiscing in Tempo, three Sacred Concerts, Black and Tan Fantasie, Far East Suite, Madness in Great Ones, Happy-Go-Lucky Local, Harlem, Perdido, C-Jam Blues, Main Stem, Caravan or any of the other 2000 or 3000 pieces he wrote or co-wrote between 1923 and 1974), why not join us on the Duke-LYM discussion list? Thanks for the Ellington playlist, DAvid and Barry. I do like Jazz in general but I have remained a newbie for years. Such kind of what-to-listen guidance really helps and is never found widely.
