yamaha psr 420 real time input.

thank you for answering to my first query. I have already checked the user guide, but being a complete novice found it very hard to understand! Is it possible that the sound card isn't up to the job? (I hope this isn't the case as it is a brand new pc!) Or could it be that I need a driver?
When inputting from the keyboard as well as a terrible delay the notation just streams out the highlighted note in the notation toolbar, without changing. Input devices are just MPU 401, should there be another input Device?

You need to follow the "Record Play From A Midi Keyboard" procedure, not the "Remote Input" procedure.
