Replying to forum messages

The NWC Forum entry page contains instructions for embedding links in forum messages and replies (to other forum messages and to URL's). However, I rarely come in via this page, and if I want to embed a link it's usually in a reply. I'm never sure I remember the instructions correctly, so I end up having to go back to the entry page to refresh my memory.

It would save me a lot of time (and others as well?) if the same information could be included on the "Reply Form" template, which is always where I am when I discover I want to embed a link and have forgotten how.

Good idea! I used to be able to remember things, but with advancing age . . .

One more thing:

We took this opportunity to improve the link embedding scheme for the forum. As of now:

- Links embedded using the http://domain mechanism will now be handled properly, even if you don't add a space at the end. For example, including just a link inside of parentheses will now be handled correctly (the link will not include the ending parentheses).

- A new named link is now supported and documented in the hints. It allows you to link to any internet resource and use a more human readable description of the name which will be seen in the message body.

For example, writing:

!link(Our Web Site=http://www.noteworthysoftware.com)

will show up as:

Our Web Site
