The browser plug-in

The browser plug-in has no direct Opera 6 support. You have to select "other browser". Will this be fixed?

I've just tried. If you upgraded from Opera 5, it works.

Fixed?

Opera, in its wisdom, embeds its version number into its uninstall string. The uninstall string appears to the only reliable way of determining if Opera is installed, and where it is installed. Because of this situation, we cannot anticipate ahead of time how the next release of Opera will appear on a user's machine. Generally speaking, we have no great desire to chase Opera releases as they change their version numbers, and thus the uninstall string. The Other browser selection is available for just these kind of situations.

However, in this case we will chase the Opera 6.0 release, and update the plug-in installer accordingly. If Opera 6.1 comes out tomorrow, and the uninstall string is changed to reflect this (since it currently uses 6.0 in its identity), the automatic detection will again fail.
