How do I do Trombone slides?

Hi y'all...
New in the neighbourhood - I do sequencing of show music for a local theatre group, which involves the notating of band parts, and I'm stumped as to how to get a smooth slide up and down in the style of a trombone (as if it were being played live!)

I'd be really gratfeul if anyone could shed some light.
Thanks,
JEREMY :o)

You use multi-point controllers ("L" command) to do a pitch bend. Two good examples of its use for trombones are at
purgallo.nwc and
alfcolbo.nwc

I think an example will explain things better than I could. The only point left to discuss is the fact that most MIDI machines are set to a 2 semitone range, two sharp and two flat making four semitones in total. A trombone gliss is normally further than that and you'll see how that causes notation problems. The best way around it is through using a hidden performance staff and a muted display staff.
