I recently installed the 1.7 version (replacing 1.55). When I opened a file I was working on previously (in 1.55) the file opened with all the staves showing and the playback worked (after I had selected the playback device) but, other than bar lines, no other information displays. No notes or lyrics!
Can anyone help me as to what to do in this case?

I had this problem when I installed 1.70. Rebooting the PC made it go away.
The need for a reboot was removed prior to the final release of version 1.70.
In this case, you might have a conflicting set of color preferences. Visit Tools | Options | Color, and confirm your color scheme.
