I just opened several files with Viewer versions 2.20 and 2.21 I didn't get any errors.
If you could tell us what your site is, and what files were a problem, we could test.
Thanks, Rick.
He was trrying to download from http://www.xprt.net/%7Evox/Music/Morley.html , specifically April is in my mistress' face. you'll have to go down the page to the Madrigals for Four voices section. I'm not sure how he could get this problem since I keep abreasy of updates and he reports using Viewer 2.21
Sorry, i just noticed that I had posted this in the general discussion forum rather than the General NWC2 forum (here).
I've just been contacted by someone trying to download some .nwc pieces from my site using the Viewer. He gets an error message that says "File uses new format."
Yes, I've directed him to support, but this is the third person in the past two weeks. He just downloaded the Viewer (version 2.21). I'm clueless as to what could be wrong, since all my files are in NWC2.

Yes, I see them now. But it seems foolish to me to make the user go back and access these features through a 'Highlight", when previous versions had it right there every time you inserted any of them.
It is now more difficult to access than before, and that isn't progress.
So have the dialogs for vertical placement of things like tempo, fermata, breathmark and special endings gone for good, or were they just broken in beta 2.05?
I really used them a lot.
Also, the dialog settings for things like whether to show things like special endings seem to have been set to "default" without any way to change them to "always"
If you want a fermata, this can be added via Insert, Tempo Variance. The Insert toolbar also includes a fermata, which can be used for even faster insertion into the staff.
