General Discussion / Re: Is it possible to make note spacing proportional to their duration?
maybe 32nd would get a little exaggerated but, who said anything about printing, i like to play right off the screen as NWC chases the notes.  Hey while trying to test your statement I discovered a way to make it exactly proportional. I just take another staff and put a full measure of the smallest duration note of the measure Im trying to space, then DISABLE  'add increase note spacing for long notes" and it perfectly spaces the notes. Nice!

General Discussion / Re: NWC guitar tab?
A guy comes in to the forum wanting to know if anyone knows how to add a guitar tab staff to NWC and you paste a link to a search box, as if they guy is so stupid he doesnt know how to search. So you are basically calling the guy stupid. Nice.

Here is the answer to your question:

If you want to add a tab staff just click on Staff, then click on New Staff.  A new staff will appear. Then click Saff , Staff Properties (make sure you have the new staff highligted), a box pops up , then click on Visual, then select 6 lines where it says Staff Lines. Then click ok.   Now you have a tab staff. You can do the same for 4 string bass guitar. Sweet!   Then just print out your composition and write the guitar arrangement on the tab staff with note names or fret numbers. The rhythm isnt pefectly proporotional but close enough and you can use blanktext expressions to control note spacing, i just learned. :) cheers

General Discussion / Is it possible to make note spacing proportional to their duration?
I see the whole and half note spacing seems to be proportionate but all the rest are the same spacing even with increase spacing for longer notes is enabled.  Is there a way to enforce note spacing to be proportional to its duration for that per measure?   Is this a possibility in future version?  thanks

General Discussion / Re: Is the Accent volume adjustable somewhere?
thank you peter. What is the text that you posted?  Is that from some kind of midi editor?  Ive never seen that before?  Do you just edit the NWC file in that text editor?  Id like to know more about that please. Appreciated thanks. Gary

General Discussion / Is the Accent volume adjustable somewhere?
Im trying to put an accent on the 2 and 4th beats. I select the note, then click on the accent icon and it puts a > under the note. When I  play it back i can hear any difference in that note.   I adjusted the staff volume down from 127 to 90, then I could hear it. I guess if the staff volume is on maximum 127 then the accent has no room to increase the volume for the note but Im just guessing. In any case even by adjusting the track volume, the accent is barely noticeable. Im wondering if the Accent amount is adjustable somewhere?? Much appreciated. Thanks.

General Discussion / Re: Accenting Notes
Both reply 1 and reply 2 are good advice.  I find MPC's hard to understand, however, and I'm not sure if the use of the accent > really gives as much expression as Don wants.

Another way, then, similar to both these techniques, is to just use hidden dynamics.

Put f or ff immediately before the first note in the group, then hide it.  Then put p or pp immediately before the second note, and hide it.  MPC is probably preferable, but as I say, I am never sure I can handle the MPC.

Since it will be tedious to do the exercise many times, I agree the copying of the figure, and adjusting the pitch as needed, is a good approach.

how does one hide a dynamic?
