General Discussion / Re: NWC to PDF
I use a little free program, cutePDF, for this purpose. ( http://www.cutepdf.com/

cutePDF will create a PDF file of anything that you can print on your regular printer such as photos, text, etc.  In my experience it is tree stump simple to use and completely trouble free.

Install the program and simply print to the cutePDF instead of your regular printer.  (When you install the program this new choice becomes available in your print dialog box.) This creates the PDF file instead of actually printing and gives you a choice of where to store the file.

Here is a link where you can find (and see how I used) some PDF's of NWC files that I created with cutePDF:

General Discussion / I need suggestions for a digital recorder.
I'm looking for a digital recorder suitable for home use that will do digital stereo recordings and permit the operator to overlay (mix) two different recording sessions together.  Example:  that would allow a musician or singer to record a duet, etc., with himself without the loss of quality experienced with analog recordings.

Suggestions, anyone?

General Discussion / Re: Can I pay you to help me w/noteworthy?
Hmmm, are you really too (pick one or two) cheap, busy, talented, dumb, lazy, or important to do a bit of learning and do this for yourself?  Anyone worth his salt will charge you far more than the cost of the NWC program and the small amount of time and effort required to learn the program and do the work.

Your post strikes me as being a tad on the arrogant side.  If this is so then consider yourself chastised.  If this is not the case then I apologize for my error and for my bluntness.

Regardless, if there is a compelling reason that you cannot do this for yourself for yourself then I will do it for you free of charge.  Further, I am sure that there are others who will consider helping you at no charge if you are truly unable to do this for yourself.

Otherwise, if yours is simply a case of "don't want to" (for whatever reason) then I'll do it for $300 per hour (US), in advance, of course.

General Discussion / Re: converting wma to mp3
I am ignorant of the wma format and its use.  (Showing my age, I suppose.)

Regardless, if there is some way that the sound output from the wma player can be sent to an external amplifier or stereo, then it seems that one could use a utility such as "RIP Vinyl", or some such, to capture this sound output and save it as a WAV file, MIDI, MP3, etc.  Then, of course, one could do whatever he wished.

Comments please!

General Discussion / Re: harmony/chords used in brass section GM 62
To accomplish this, you must eliminate the second triad + octave, and add an augmented 7th + octave above the third triad (triad, triad + octave, + sixth, triad + augmented 7th + octave).

With regard to the MIDI file you must set the channel to 31 and score the MIDI with an additional octave, i.e., channel 31 + channel 31 octave (31 + 31 = 62) and this will give you the desired sound.  You can hide the 2nd channel (31 + octave) to get the right "look" when you print.  Note:  If you try to go directly to channel 62 with this setup, then you will initiate a very annoying dynamic harmonic instability on playback that may damage your sound card.

Oh, yes, I nearly forgot.  You must save this as a Type 0 MIDI.

General Discussion / Re: Frustration with new forum
I wish I'd said that.

At the very real risk of alienating management and the powers-that-be, it does seem that the focus of the owners of the BUSINESS should be sorely needed program improvements rather than fiddling (Hmmm, a musical tie-in?) around with forum upgrades that few of their CUSTOMERS seem to want or like.

I wonder--just how much INCOME for this BUSINESS does this forum generate?

As I once heard in a movie, "Were it worth the effort, Pilgrim?"

General Discussion / Re: Now I'm NOT EVEN allowed to post ANYTHING on the NWC2 forums!
I agree with llucyy.

Further, I have been a member of several forums where the owner of the forum "updated" or "improved" their forum and then went "nuts" with rules, regulations, and policing the forum, etc.  Invariably this led to a loss of focus, hard feelings, and only a few sycophants who continued to be active participants.

Is this where the Noteworthy forums are headed?

I suggest that we forget about all the new forum "bells and whistles" and get back to those things that are of real interest to us all:  MUSIC!

IMHO, that is.
