I've just downloaded Flinger. Can someone confirm it sings one part only? Even though I copied the lyrics for "Happy Birthday" to all four parts in my satb, it ignored 2,3 and 4. Has anyone tried Harmony Assistant for voice synth?
I have a piece of music which sounds terrible! I've checked all the staffs have the same key, are playing back the same sound, but a more off-key piece of music would be hard to find. Any ideas what could be causing it?
Thank you all very much. I've now managed to convert successfully using Wavepad and am feeling pretty good that I'm finally getting to grips with all this technical stuff! (Tho with help...!)
Following the instructions I downloaded Wave Pad (please note downloading anything is at the extremes of my technical limits!).
The instructions for "Click New File" are fine......then "Click the Red record Button" ......default sound in, is on the right, not the left of the window which appeared. But the instructions..."In the second box, select Stereo Mixer".....I can't find that. There's an Input option with Windows Record Mixer; CD Player; microphone; aux; line in; phone; mono out; or wave out mix. The default is Windows Record Mixer, so leaving that I continued with the instructions, but nothing happens.
Thanks for coming to my aid (again). I have put special ending 2 in bar 33 and replaced the local repeat close in bar 32/33 with a master repeat close. Now it seems to completely ignore the repeat and plays bars 31 and 32 then straight onto bar 33...and on. So I'm still doing something wrong......
I still haven't resolved the special endings and wonder if there's any other way to go about it.
The music is 58 bars long. Bars 1 - 8 are sung once, at the beginning, so bar line 8/9 is a local repeat open. Then bar 9 to 32 are sung (bars 31 and 32 are only for the first verse)so bar line 32/33 is a local repeat close and the song goes back to bar 9. All that plays okay. The problem arises from the 2nd verse....starting bar 9 - which should then stop at the end of bar 30 and skip to bar 33 when it should then play right through to bar 58.
I have put special ending 1 in bars 31 and 32 - that seems to have no effect at all as those bars are played again during the second verse, followed by bar 33 and onwards.... I then put a special ending 2 in bar 33 - that has two effects: it only plays to bar 32 then stops; and ties appear for the first notes in bar 33.
Thanks for your help. I've recently installed an imaging programme which had a lot of fonts (unfortunately not the ones required for the special endings) and this caused a huge problem on my computer. For the moment, I'm reluctant to download any other fonts just in case. I'll give it a try in a week or so when I've completed work on a project which needs the imaging programme.
A couple of queries with a piece I'd like to finish today:
1. How do I get a special ending to stretch over two bars?
2. In the first of two adjacent bars, I have a special ending 1 (no problems with that), but in the second bar I have an un-numbered ending which appears to be a mirror image of the usual special ending.
Okay - I think I have that. I can't say for sure as I'm having a problem playing back. Some, but not all, the four staffs are holding on ties - the more of the score is played, the worse the sound!!! The voice synth doesn't work at all and that's what I'm aiming for.....but perhaps I'm going too fast, too soon. I'll post another time on that.
Finally (for a while anyway), I have a diamond shape on both staffs, it's not a note but needs to have a lyric assigned to it. (At the end of a line of lyrics, the word "yes!"). I can't find a diamond or any other shape to which I can assign a lyric. Any ideas?
No doubt I'll be back in five minutes asking another question......
......five minutes later.... here's the next question:
My four part harmony starts off noted in the first bar as "Intro" - this first bar ends with a double bar line. From that time on the bars are numbered 1...thru... but Noteworthy numbers the bars from the first one, so I'm effectively one bar out on the numbering. How can I get the numbering to start from the second bar?
I have a four part harmony song. The main lyrics are mostly sung by all four parts with the occasional tum-de-dum sung by tenor or bass. The tum-de-dum bits are spread spasmodically throughout and I'm having trouble aligning them to their correct places. So far I've used dashes, dots and carriage returns on the lyric lines until I hit the right place, but is there an easier way?
Please bear in mind I'm only a week into trying out noteworthy.
