General Discussion / Leading adjustment in lyrics?
In lyrics, I find the default leading (height of font - or, in visual terms, the space between lines of fonts) is too condensed, making it difficult to follow the text while singing. I have tested the standard fonts in Windows: this is true with all of them.

Is anyone aware of a way to increase the space between lines of lyrics?

General Discussion / Re: Alter placement of slurs?
Thanks, Mike. This is the solution I came up with, also - although it's not quite ideal, as the slur ends up crossing the stem line. I wish that NWC allowed for slurs to print in the same way as ties!

General Discussion / Re: Alter placement of slurs?
Thanks for the reply - but I'm looking for a solution when the slur must be downward for an alto line or upward for a tenor line - in other words, extending into the lyric space.

General Discussion / Alter placement of slurs?
This has probably been discussed, but I haven't been able to locate a solution:

I'm producing music for church bulletins, where space is tight. Often the slurs on alto or tenor lines overprint lyrics. Increasing staff boundaries takes too much space on the page, and reducing stem lengths still leaves the slurs colliding with words. Can slurs be set to print from notehead to notehead, rather than from end-of-stem to end-of-stem?

General Discussion / Left-align first syllable only
In printing hymns for congregational singing, I prefer to see:
  • syllables aligned using standard rules (i.e., centered on notes)
  • verse number attached to the first syllable
  • verse numbers left-aligned.

I haven't found this addressed in the forums, so am posting here. Has anyone tried to do this?

(The one solution that occurred to me was to insert an invisible, muted note on which to align the verse numbers -- but that creates too much space at the start of the lyric line.)

General Discussion / Re: lyrics paste doesn't work
I have the same problem that Mark describes: the paste function does not work in the lyrics dialogue - whether I use Ctrl+V, Shift+Insert, or mouse right-click commands. Interestingly, I can *cut* without difficulty -- but when I cut and immediately try to paste, nothing happens. (I know that the text has in fact been saved in the clipboard, because I tested by pasting into a word document.)

The work-around of saving as a nwctxt file, then editing, does the trick - thank you for that.

I have had this problem for months -- at least since upgrading to NWC 2.5.5. In fact, I can't recall the last time I was able to paste lyrics.

General Discussion / Re: Fermata placement
I'm relatively new to NWC -- it's disheartening to see this problem identified over a decade ago, and still not fixed. Why is that, NWC?

I find that a fermata placed over an ordinary note is
correctly positioned (with Preserve Width off), but on a
note with an accidental it is placed over the accidental
(or sometimes midway between them.) On a chord with
multiple accidentals it really gets out of position.
Can this be cured?

All in all I love this program --- good work!
