How to remove colour from music notation/bar lines

Having selected an entire staff, visual staff properties set to default (black) colour yet some notation is appearing blue as are some bar lines.

I unlayered staffs to make sure each individual staff was set to default yet some notes still appear blue.  Any solutions please?

When selecting properties, you also need to look at the Notes tab. Make sure that 'Notehead Color' is set to: Default.
