Does the Graphic card is an alternative to the Soundcard?

I want to buy a Graphic Card.  Can a graphic card recognise the midi information from my MIDI KEYBOARD?  Please help me

Answer: No.  The graphics card has to do with your monitor and how the computer sends info to it to convert into a screen picture.  The soundcard turns digital sound into analog sound and sends it to your speakers.

If you want to connect a MIDI keyboard, you generally have to purchase a USB MIDI interface that handles the connection to the MIDI keyboard. If your keyboard has a "To Host" serial connection, you might be able to use its "To Host" cable to connect the keyboard directly to the computer, without having to buy a MIDI interface.
