Divisi without layering

I have found a simple way to notate 'divisi'
without using layer function.
That is, two notes are put together vertically
with separate stems one is upper another lower.

- First put a quarter (or other) note.
- Put the second note in a dotted quarter.
- Select these two notes.
- Hit the dot key
- Then the dot of the second note disappears
with leaving two stems as they are.

Why don't you just select "Note stem down", enter the lower 1/4 note, then select "Note stem up" and enter the higher 1/4 note as a chord

It reminds me of Jo's simple mathematics in 'Man about the house'.

Anyway: Shift-CursorUp and Shift-CursorDown work wonders.

Maybe 'stupid' meant something milder in Lewis Carroll's days?
