please help, Some special characters do not work

Hello,

I am trying to add some croat characters to the lyrics line.
When I paste them in the lyrics line editor they show correctly.
Once I hit Ok then the Č becomes a C, the đ becomes a d and the č becomes a c.
Curiously, the Ž the ž the š and the Đ work fine and stay correctly.
I tried different fonts, and they all react the same.

Has anybody a clue here?

Thanks,

G'day muse,
first, welcome to the forum.

Now, NWC does not support unicode fonts, so lots of characters won't show that you are accostomed to.  However, all is not lost:

If you purchased NWC2 on CD, there is an option to install the "Pardypack" font suites.  If you don't have the CD you can still access the font suites via either:
the NWC site:
http://www.noteworthysoftware.com/uc/pardypack/
or the Scripto:
http://nwc-scriptorium.org/helpful.html#Fonts

One of the fonts within each suite is called somethingTextEuro.  They are:
SwingTextEuro.ttf or
MusikTextEuroSans.ttf or
MusikTextEuroSerif.ttf

These fonts have added characters in locations that NWC can use and from what I saw in your post I think they may cover your needs.  Simply choose the appropriate one in page setup for the Lyrics font and see how you go.  I highly recommend that you read the supporting document that comes with each suite.  Note that the extra characters are not in locations you are used to.  You will therefore need the character table in the document OR a tool like "Typecase" or "Charmap" etc. to select and use the extended characters.

Please let me know how you get on.
