I loved this Sid Caesar/Nanette Fabray skit so much I thought I'd bring it to the attention of other musicians. However, I don't think it should remain on the forum more than a day or two since it really has nothing to do with NWC.

Does anyone know when this clip was first recorded? I believe that the couple are Sid Caesar and Nanette Fabray and that it comes from Caeser's Half Hour, around 1954.

The Beethoven sketch was recorded from a live broadcast (those were the days!), on December 27, 1954. Here's a reference:

Hey, Maurizio -

OK, OK. The memory isn't as bad as it might be. But I didn't remember the date of the Sid Caesar show - I looked it up. One thing I haven't forgotten is how to do reference work. I was a reference librarian for 18 years, and it stuck. Retired now for six years and loving every minute of it. But the skills are still there.
