Recording MIDI info from other programs

Is there any way to record into NWC midi information running in other programs, specifically Max MSP?

Maybe...
I am not familiar with Max MSP so I cannot comment specifically on that product...  However, you can certainly record into NWC using MIDI from a keyboard etc..  You need a click track to give basic tempo or you only get "step wise" entry...

To use some other MIDI application you would need a logical MIDI cable like MIDIYoke, set your MIDI output from the source application to a MIDIYoke port, set NWC to use that port as an input, start the recording with a click track and then "play" the other application.

Might take some fiddling to get the tempo of the click track close enough for the MIDI data to be meaningful though...

Perhaps a better way would be to export a MIDI from the source application (if you can) and then import that MIDI into NWC - likely easier to get a good result...

I plays 'Bones, crumpets, coronets, floosgals, youfonymums 'n tubies.
