Hi, I want to ask how to change notes to...

Hi mates.

First of all, My first language is not english,
Sorry about my Weak English Ability and please pardon few unpolite usage, thank you.

I am a beginner of NW2
Actually I don't have time to sit on the computer,
so I usually write some alphabets on the paper like this,
for example.

Mary had a little lamb (C-Do D- Le C-Mi -F-Fa G-So A-La B-Ti )

E4.D8C4D4E4E4E2

like this..

I get used to it and I am able to read it really fast and easily.

but most of musicians around me are used to notes who couldn't read it so fast.

My question is,

Can I Change those alphabet codes in to NW just type it on MS Word?

and also.

Can NW change notes into that kind of alphabet code.

Thank you very much,
If NW cant do it, Could you please recommend any other Softwares which is possible to do it? please?

Hi Sangzza,

this remembers me the old monophonic ringtone programming. :-)

I think it should be relatively easy to make a user tool that can do that.
You prepare a text file with it then a user tool translates.

No offense implied, but don't you think this can be a good opportunity to learn to read a score?

There's a roundabout way of getting written letter note names into NWC, but it requires that the letter notation follow the conventions of the abc notation format. The best site to learn the fundamentals is

http://www.walshaw.plus.com/abc/

You then need some software that will convert abc to MIDI. There's a long list of links to software at the URL above: the one I've been using forever is Henrik Norbeck's "AbcMus", available at this site:

http://www.norbeck.nu/abcmus

(I don't know if this is the best currently available: I'm just used to using it.)

Now all you have to do is import the MIDI into NWC. Long way around, but it does work. I put the ability to read abc notation on the wishlist for NWC some time back, but it's really a much lower priority than any number of other enhancements, so I don't expect to see it soon.
Cheers,

Bill

Thank you very much for reply.

That's true, my way to read is way too old.
I should practice to read notes faster, rather than ABC stuffs. Thank you Flurmy.

Thank you Bill,
I went to that site and it was awesome.
I downloaded the ABCmus, but I am not good at Newface software.
It will take bit of time to use it.
Haven't tried Walshaw one but I think ABCmus is something that I was looking for.
And also is there any software which can convert back?
I mean, Notes to ABC.

thank you to all.
