Sibelius Cometh (or not?)

There's been a lot said recently about the supposed shortcomings of NWC in comparison with 'professional' notators such as Encore or Sibelius (see https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=520 and https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=574). The price for Windows Sibelius has now been announced. It's 'only' £695 (around $1000). Anybody feeling really rich?? Unless you're a professional composer/arranger, or a well heeled amateur these mainstream programs are well and truly out of reach. Thank heavens for the fantastic value NWC - maybe it doesn't do everything we would like, but many work arounds have been documented both here, in tips and on the newsgroup. And upgrades keep on coming!

Peter.

Speaking only to Encore, many of the "advanced" features are right for some schools of notation but wrong for others. The threads we've generated about implementing ornaments and multi voices make clear that a single notation can have various meanings.

With regard to the Sibelius price tag of 695UKP, what happened with the Acorn version is that there are four flavours :
Sibelius 7 £695
Sibelius 7 Student £400
Sibelius 6 £120
Sibelius Junior £50

So i'm sure that this will be mirrored with the Pc version
