Change GENERAL FILE OPTIONS

NoteWorthy Composer 1.75c

Is there a way to change the GENERAL FILE OPTIONS under Tools/Option/File menu ?

I like to turn off both the CREATE BAKUP FILES and AUTO SAVE/RECOVERY.

Thanks,

Fiddler

Umm, yeah...

Go to where you mentioned:

|Tools|Options|File (tab) and untick
  • Create Backup Files and
  • Auto save/recovery

I've unticked both selections and it only retained the changes in the current session.  I saved the file,  ended the session and opned the same file again, the changes reverted back to the default - CREATE BACKUP FILES and AUTO SAVE/RECOVERY enable.

I found out that changes to the GENERAL FILE OPTIONS applied to current session and were not saved.

How to change the GENERAL FILE OPTIONS permenantly?

Thanks,

Fiddler

G'day Fiddler,
methinks you may have something in the background preventing or restoring registry setting changess - the change is permanent on my PC.

An example might be something like Lavasoft's Adwatch - part of Ad-aware.

NWC 1.75c saves its options to a NWC.INI file. If your options are not being saved after closing NWC, then there are three possible causes:

1 - the NWC32.EXE program did not shut down normally

2 -  there were multiple instances of NWC32 running, which causes a different version of your options to replace your new settings

3 - NWC was unable to write the options back to the NWC.INI file

Admin,

It was case 3 - the user account could not write back to the NWC.INI file.

When I logged on as ADMIN, it worked as expected.

Thank you for your help!

Duh, I forgot NWC1.75 uses an INI file - sorry for the red herring...
