Glissando positioning

I'm trying to show glisses for rolling reed lines, using Boxmark2 as User Font 2.  This layout of text characters displays the glissandos between the half notes in each bar, if I also have a staff like the piano right hand visible:

When I display the staff by itself, in either the edit or print preview windows, the glisses overlap the second note in each bar.

I would appreciate any suggestions how to fix this, since  I will be printing individual parts.

Well done.

Have to provide some amusement, don't I?  Glad you didn't ask me what my solution is.  It's too obvious.  Sigh.
