Staves get bolder

I have a score with 10 staves.  Every time you use the PageUp/PageDown keys to move between the staves all the staves being displayed (including the label and contents, with perhaps the exception of the actual notes) get a little bolder.  This continues to happen until you move far enough to get the screen to redraw at which time everything changes back to the normal boldness.  You can watch this happen most dramatically by alternately pressing PageUp/PageDown and watching the screen get bolder and bolder until it really looks clunky (fonts get really bitmapped looking).

You haven't give any system details.

This sounds like a bug in your display driver, possibly with anti-aliasing. We have taken other measures in v2 to work around some of the more common display driver bugs, and so we will look into possible ways to help this.

In the mean time, you should see if there is an updated driver for your system's graphics card. You can also use the F9 key to refresh your screen.

Video Card:  Matrox Millenium G400
Video Driver: 5.92.6.0 Date: 1/26/2004
O/S:  Windows 2000 Service Pack 4

Installing latest video driver (as listed above) from Matrox didn't change anything.

In my previous post I mentioned that the problem might not involve the notes, it actually does involve the notes as well as everything else in the score.

Please let me know if you need further system details or if there are other specifics that may be of help.

Thanks.

As I said, we might be able to help this, and will look into that possibility. However, in the end, there is only so much we can do to overcome problems/bugs in a display driver. You might try turning down your system's graphic acceleration (Control Panel, Display, Settings, Advanced, Troubleshooting).

In any event, F9 is your friend in a case like this.

By the way, what happens on your system when you use NWC 1.75b?

Well I'll kindly remind you that I've been having the same problem (See https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=2116) since I moved to the emachines computer with XP.  I've learned to accept F9 as my friend, and there is one way to solve this problem: turn everything down to Safe Mode resolution/depth, but who wants to use that?

I went back and tested the issue with version 1.75b, and at this point it does the same thing.  Now I don't know whether the "new" video driver has caused the problem to happen consistently, or maybe I just didn't notice it over the past years for whatever reasons.
