Phone Pitchpipe Metronome

I recently bought an A835 Motorola phone that has an Mp3 player built in and 64 MB memory.One of my pastimes is mixed a cappella and also male barbershop singing. So not only can I notate my part (and the whole song), save it to midi and drag across to the phone, with the software included with the phone, as a learning aid (the phone has a healthy speaker and also headphones), but I have also made up a set of standard pitches from low Bb to high Eb to use instead of the customary round blow pitchpipe for starting.Also as I play reeds in a couple of bands I made up metronome files with clave voicing (or wood block)using two or three notes as a "chord" and eigth notes with eighth note rests and suitable repeat notation. Setting the tempo at48 then save as midi, change to 60 save etc. also dragged to the phone. these help keep me honest when I'm practising.Can highly recommend.

If you let the phone 'ring' a pitch before, say, a chorus or 60, is the pitch audible all around?
It sounds like a very good idea. I heard about a ladies barbershop chorus planning to buy a second pitch pipe, and they might economise - and have fun in the process.

It's pretty loud and you could make an mp3 and put it in an editor like Nero or Audacity and boost the levels, but it is hard for me to quote sound levels.
