Re: How can I decrease space? Reply #1 – 2004-02-25 02:41 pm If I understand your question correctly, you can't do that directly in NWCV15. Since the chorus is part of whichever lyrics line you choose to place it, it will always be at that vertical level.Without cutting and pasting, it is possible to enter words as "text" rather than as "lyrics." This is only practical if your chorus does not have too many syllables. You can enter text, position it so that it is centered on a note, then adjust it vertically wherever you wish. Each syllable acts independently. Since these are not regarded by the program is "lyrics," you will have to set the note properties so that they have "no lyrics."There are other ways to solve the problem, involving layered staves. Or, if your music has another staff without it own lyrics and with notes in the right places, you can give those notes "lyrics," then adjust the vertical position until they crowd into the lyrics space of the adjacent staff. You will need to verify positions with Print Preview. Quote Selected
Re: How can I decrease space? Reply #2 – 2004-02-25 05:23 pm Picking up on Robert's last paragraph:Use a new staff for each variation of lyric - so if you want one lyric to be at the edge of the vertical space taken up by the staff, and the chorus to be at a different height, put the first lyric on one staff and the second lyric on the other. By fiddling with hidden rests and hidden muted notes in these extra staffs, you can force a lyric to start at any place in the composition. To control the height of the lyrics, it's easiest to adjust the vertical size of each particular staff. Then layer them. Quote Selected
