Arpeggio-ed chords / broken chords

Inquisitive newcomer - eager to get the most out of this programme...

I'm not sure of the technical musical term for this, but occasionally a piano chord is played in a "broken" fashion - it is symbolised by a wavy line down the side of the chord.  is there a way to ask NWC to recognise this so that it can be output to a Midi file?

See https://forum.noteworthycomposer.com/?topic=839. You can do this and lots of other things (turns, trills, tremolos, all that sort of thing) by having two separate staves; one (muted) for visual effect, with the performance symbols inserted as text, and the other (sounded but hidden) which actually spells out what you want it to do.

For the "visual" part it's really handy to have a music symbol font, which you assign to one of the "User Fonts" in Page Setup | Fonts tab. Some freeware/shareware fonts are listed at the Scriptorium Helful files section.

Hi Phil and welcome to NWC.  NWC won't actually play a 'broken chord' automatically.  What I do is enter tied grace notes to all but the top note in the chord.  This gives a nice rendition of a 'broken chord'.

Have fun,
