Digital Ear 2001-12-27 05:00 am I have seen on Simtel announcement of "digital ear" that say that it can transform AUDIO to MIDI with good quality.Look at http://www.simtel.net/pub/pd/55886.shtmlhttp://www.simtel.net/pub/pd/55886.shtmlDoes some one with more knowledge than me as tested it? Re: Digital Ear Reply #1 – 2001-12-27 05:00 am Yes, I've tried that one -- along with several others. It does work, to a degree, and might be useful for creating midis from relatively simple and clean input waves.Digital Ear is better than some of them, in that it also "imports" dynamics and volume changes. The drawback is that the resulting midi can be very "busy", albeit somewhat more accurate than most of the simpler programs. However, its best use (and the same goes for the others I've tried) is as a random-tone midi generator to give ideas for avant-garde aleatoric compositions. ;-)Fred Quote Selected
