varying note lengths

I just figured out how to connect my Casio keyboard to get it to work with NWC, but all the notes that it imports are quarter notes. How do I get it to import the notes at the length that I play them?

There are two ways to use your midi keyboard to enter notes.
1) Stepwise: set the note length using your computer keyboard's 1-6 keys (or the +/- keys) and then enter the note with your midi keyboard (can do chords too, I think).

2) Realtime MIDI import. Setup a metronome track (percussion track (normally channel 10) - do a click or whatever you want, and do a local repeat set at 100 or whatever). Then press F4 and away you go! It will import your performance according to what MIDI import parameters you set (too many details for this post).
